Position Highlights | The Lab of Dr. Liliana Salvador (the Computational Zoonoses lab) in the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop and implement methodologies to improve our understanding of infectious diseases in multi-host systems. The Computational Zoonoses lab is transdisciplinary and focuses on the quantitative epidemiology and evolutionary dynamics of zoonotic diseases under the One Health approach. The successful candidate will: 1) study the underlying evolutionary processes and cross-species transmission patterns of zoonotic diseases; 2) determine the impacts of behavior and movement patterns on the spatio-temporal disease dynamics; and 3) develop computational tools to integrate genomic, epidemiological, and ecological data to answer specific evolutionary and ecological questions. We invite applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds that would like to work in diverse projects in the lab ranging from data collection, data analysis, modelling, and software development. There will be the possibility for undergraduate and graduate student mentoring and for teaching opportunities if the successful candidate is interested in strengthening those skills. This is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance. Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more! The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. For more information about working at the University of Arizona and relocations services, please click here . |
