Who We Are:
New Teacher Center (NTC) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to disrupting the predictability of educational inequities for BIPOC students, multilingual learners, students experiencing poverty, and immigrant students by accelerating educator effectiveness. Since our founding in 1998, NTC has rigorously worked with educators and facilitators at all levels of a system to center students’ needs to transform professional learning and equip educators with the tools to disrupt inequitable education practices. In 2022-23, NTC reached more than 1,000 school districts and 9400+ schools, serving approximately 4.8 million students and 285,000 teachers.

Your Impact:
The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will report directly to the CEO and serve on the senior leadership team, contributing to overall organizational strategy, financial sustainability, and operations. As a key leader overseeing a significant portion of the organization, the CPO will set the tone for collaboration, high expectations, and alignment of program staff with all other departments. The CPO will travel to engage with and support clients and program staff and represent NTC at external functions.
The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will be charged with:

Leading the evolution of NTC’s programmatic strategy to align with NTC’s point of view on student- and equity-centered instruction

Influencing and motivating NTC Partners and leaders in the K-12 ecosystem around coaching, induction, and other innovative service lines that support teacher practice and student achievement

Launching programming that equips the next generation of teachers with the tools they need to thrive, grow professionally, and effectively serve all students by building on NTC’s legacy in induction and coaching while also generating innovative approaches that deepen the impact

Bridging the gap between research and practice by quantifying the measurable impact across both core and innovative service lines.

Broadening NTC's programmatic footprint through the expansion of partnerships with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), State Education Agencies (SEAs), and charter networks(CMOs).
What will success look like in your first year:
-
Provide leadership to updates in content design, creation of innovative content, and partnerships, and continue providing high quality, high impact professional learning experiences for teachers, mentors, and school leaders across the US

Successfully develop and implement a programmatic fee-for-service revenue generation strategy that increases revenue for the upcoming fiscal year
-
Participate in creating the organization’s next strategic plan that outlines NTC’s program delivery approach to meet the needs of clients and partners, develop new and existing program offerings and innovations in a manner that leverages technology, and considers growth.

Continue to build organizational culture by improving the overall program staff experience.

Contribute to organizational financial sustainability by being a good steward of organizational resources

Collaborate with the Impact team to establish and cultivate structures and processes that allow NTC and our clients to make decisions and implement practices that support positive outcomes for systemically underserved students and the educators who serve them
What Will You Do:
Management and Leadership:

Manage and develop Program delivery staff through effective feedback and development strategies aligned with a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion

Drive professional learning and development for direct reports and their team, including job-embedded coaching

Ensure communication of organizational priorities and decisions across the Program team

Establish and maintain a strong team culture in alignment with NTC’s mission, core values, and theory of change

Inclusively facilitate collaboration across diverse groups of people, functions, levels, and contexts, both internally and externally, to build vision alignment.
Fee-for-Service Revenue Generation
-
Develop and collaborate on the fee-for-service strategy that supports NTC’s annual revenue goals, fiscal sustainability, and long-term strategic plan implementation.

The CPO will work closely with Program Vice Presidents and Senior Directors to ensure alignment, clarity, and coherence across the Program, Finance, and Revenue Generation leadership.

Collaborate with the leadership team to create an annual revenue generation plan that includes existing, renewable, increasing, expanded, and new streams of funding
-
Seek opportunities to develop and maintain partnerships with districts, CMOs, and State agencies
-
In partnership with the CEO, lead external relationships with major funders and partners to support the team in reaching its annual Board approved budget
-
Serve as a lead external representative of NTC’s Program for the organization and articulate our mission to external constituents
Program Design, Innovation, and Implementation
-
Lead the development and launch of new programs or initiatives that align with NTC’s strategic vision
-
Oversee the execution of programs, ensuring they are implemented efficiently and effectively
-
Identify and foster opportunities for the program team to collaborate and align practices across departments and regions
-
Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in program delivery
-
Guide program leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of program goals
-
Ensure that programs are designed to meet the needs of the current and prospective partners
-
Monitor program activities and make adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcome
-
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues and align NTC’s program offerings to industry needs
Board and Stakeholder Engagement
-
Attend board meetings and give program specifics updates
-
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and community leaders.
-
Collaborate with external organizations and agencies to enhance program outcomes.
-
Represent the organization at events, conferences, and meetings related to programmatic activities.
What You Bring:
-
10+ years in a senior management role, ideally with classroom and district, nonprofit, or system-level leadership experience, an advanced degree is preferred
-
Experience developing and executing strategy for program delivery and business growth and development
-
Respected, highly-skilled instructional leader with broad experience as an educator across roles and differing student populations, preferred
-
Proven record of success in improving outcomes for all students and supporting adult learning
-
Experience building relationships and partnerships across multiple districts and at different levels within a district is required
-
Experience managing large teams towards ambitious outcomes and building culture, preference for someone who has worked in a virtual organization
-
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and

This position offers a competitive starting salary range of $209,348 to $244,239 and a robust benefits package.
