Program Coordinator, Senior (Early College Credit Programs)Special Instructions to Applicants
NOTE: New employees will be placed at the first step which is $77,748 per year, second step $81,684 per year or third step at $85,836 per year (depending upon experience). Based on current salary placement guidelines, all step increases for which an employee becomes eligible shall take place on July 1st of each fiscal year. These increases will occur, on annual basis, until the maximum step of $94,716 per year is reached on the salary schedule.
This is an 18-month grant-funded position.

Examples of Duties/Essential Functions
Provides overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision making regarding a large and complex assigned program; implements program policies and directives according to District, federal or State guidelines.
Performs program development and administration for large and/or multiple programs.
Assists in the development, preparation and/or administration of department and program budgets.
Maintains and compiles data for statistical reports, student data reports, student records and files, or material requested by the District and State Chancellor’s Office.
Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
Coordinates with other departments and/or external vendors to arrange for support equipment, materials, services or resources for students and orients students in processes or use.
Develops, schedules and leads training programs for faculty, staff and managers to promote access to and increased awareness of available student support services and programs.
Develops and implements support programs; conducts research appropriate to the operation and effectiveness of the program.
Reviews applications or other program documents to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program; advises students on issues associated with assigned program; identifies problems and provides advice.
Designs and develops presentations, written information and other resource materials concerning available college and community services and programs.
Assists students with navigating college processes as appropriate for assigned program; guides students in utilizing the services of the college and outside agencies; provides referral to auxiliary resources.
Participates in special activities and events as needed.
Maintains and monitors payroll records for student assistants.
Advances program objectives consistent with college’s organizational mission and goals.
Creates program policies and processes to facilitate student success.
Meets with community members, business leaders and external agencies to solicit their participation and interest in college student service programs.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience
Four (4) years of experience performing responsible student services duties in a related college program.
EDUCATION/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent.
Minimum Qualification-Knowledge Of
Modern office procedures, practices and technology/equipment.
General college classroom procedures and requirements.
General needs of population of students supported.
Philosophy and objectives of students services programs; problems encountered by students supported.
General principles and practices of supervision.
Basic interviewing and test proctoring techniques.
Modern software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Student Services including working with processes and services that support K-12 dual and concurrently enrolled students.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse student population and the local community the college serves.
- Demonstrated experience working within an equity-minded framework and implementation of these concepts in direct services to students.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering student equity and ability to ensure access for people from diverse multicultural, social, language, and educational backgrounds, especially those that face multiple barriers to achieving their educational goals.
- Ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships across the college and with many external partners including school and community entities.
- Organizational skills that enable performance of duties in a timely fashion with attention to detail
- Understanding of successful components and benefits of early college credit and K-12 student success program
- Effective oral and written communication skills, in both English and Spanish preferred

Retirement: Most employees are members of the PERS (Public Employees Retirement System). Faculty employees and Academic Managers are members of the STRS (State Teachers Retirement System). Police Service employers are members of Safety Public Employees Retirement System.
Deferred Compensation: The District offers two optional deferred compensation plans. Eligible employees have a choice of the 457, 403b plans and a selection of savings and investment options.
Leave Allowance: The District offers monthly eligible classified employees and managers/supervisors a generous vacation and sick leave benefits as well as 20 paid holidays annually (which can vary based on length of winter break).

United Faculty has an agency fee of .55% of gross pay plus $2.50. (All confidential, supervisory and management positions are exempt from union membership)
