Lincoln Land Community College is accepting applications for this 27 hour per week, non-benefited position to provide academic support and resources to TRIO Student Support Services program participants.
This position reports to the Director-Student Support Services and responsibilities include:
· Assess participants' academic needs and coordinate academic tutoring
· Assist with implementation of Educational Support Plan for each participant
· Design and deliver study skills workshops
· Document services provided to each student and monitor progress
· Hire and supervise tutors
· Maintain documentation on services provided to each student and monitor progress
· Assist in coordinating student retention and success initiatives
· Assist in pre- and post-assessment of participants
Starting pay will be no less than $19.78 per hour. Work shift will be 27 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8AM and 1PM with possible afternoon hours.
A bachelor's degree in Education, English, Math, or a related field and one or more years of experience working with disadvantaged students in a high school or college setting is required.
Additional requirements include:
· Demonstrated knowledge of retention issues and practices in higher education
· Experience in designing and delivering a study skills curriculum
· Experience with assessment
· Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and sensitivity to students from disadvantaged backgrounds
· Background similar to the target population/participants
Prior experience in working with TRIO projects is preferred.
