Position
Power to Decide is seeking a Human Resources Manager to coordinate the administration of human resources programs at Power to Decide including payroll, benefits, onboarding, recruiting, and compliance. This role is part of the People and Culture team and is responsible for providing support to Power to Decide staff ensuring the accurate and timely processing of pay and benefits while looking to optimize and improve processes and procedures in support of the organization.
This role will collaborate with the Senior Director, People and Culture to ensure all human resource programs and actions align with our organizational mission and values and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by supervisors and staff.
The Human Resources Manager will report to the Senior Director, People and Culture.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage payroll procedures including accurately processing bi-weekly multi-state payroll, applying knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements regarding employee compensation
- Maintain compliance with federal, multi-state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist with onboarding new employees including processing background checks and maintaining personnel files
- Coordinate the administration of employee benefits including annual benefit open enrollment and providing continuous support of staff throughout the year
- Assist with recruitment process reviewing and maintaining job descriptions, posting requisitions, and coordinating the interview process with hiring managers and teams
- Accurately maintain staff information and records within Paylocity and SharePoint
- Ensure the completion of annual staff compliance with trainings and in review of policies and procedures
- Actively contribute to a healthy organizational culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Make recommendations for strategic improvements to the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters
- Perform other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree and four to five (4 – 5) years of relevant professional experience OR six to seven (6 – 7) years of relevant professional experience without a bachelor’s degree
- Experience processing multi-state payroll preferred
- Experience working in a remote environment preferred
- Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment related laws and regulations
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel up to two times a year for team meetings or staff retreats
The Human Resources Manager (.5 FTE) is a part-time, exempt position working 20 hours per week. Salary is based on market factors and individual experience and abilities. The starting salary range for this position is $31,000 to $45,050 depending on experience and qualifications.
