Patient Services Representative, Primary Care

Job Description

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, PRIMARY CARE, MIT Health, to be responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling in a highly visible position with extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone.  Front desk tasks will include check-ins, collecting copays, and obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information.  Administrative duties will include answering telephone calls; data entry; insurance reviews; filing; and scheduling appointments and procedures in coordination with providers, service areas, and healthcare facilities.  The position will involve interacting with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate management of complex patient issues; and providing effective customer service in support of departmental operations.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  high school diploma or GED equivalent; at least two years of experience in a customer service or administrative role; ability to perform, follow through on, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously; strong organizational skills; and ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff.  PREFERRED: experience in a health care setting.   Job #24125-4
