Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Biological Engineering-TAL Research Group, to support a clinical study investigating shared features and sex differences of the immune response and disease presentation in multiple complex chronic diseases, including chronic Lyme disease, Long COVID, and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).  Responsibilities will include assisting with various administrative tasks in supporting the clinical study, biobanking participants’ samples, maintaining the organization of the biobank, handling protected health information (PHI) and participants’ samples, and running antibody assays. Will also support and assist study research staff with amendments to the study IRB, recruitment of the cohort, initial screening of applicants, train to begin biobanking, and perform other tasks.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  B.S./B.A. in natural sciences; at least two years of experience in a laboratory setting (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); desire to learn quickly and apply new skills; excellent organizational, planning, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions, multitask, and carefully document work in written records; self-motivation; attention to detail; and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  May need to stand for extended periods of time, push and pull objects weighing over 50 pounds, and engage in repetitive motions.  PREFERRED:  experience in clinical research, biobanking, handling of protected health information (PHI) and participant samples; proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; graphic design skills; solid knowledge of ICH-GCP and other research regulatory requirements; and skill with data management and tracking in REDCap.  Job #24106

This position has an end date of November 2026, but may be extended based on funding availability.
