ADMISSIONS AND RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR II

Introduction (Description of School/College/Dept/Program)

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA) is housed in the Division of Enrollment Management, home to the Student Success Center, Financial Aid Office, Student Advising, Career Planning and more. OUA is tasked with attracting and enrolling undergraduate students to UWM’s three campuses. The department oversees recruitment, visits and events, operations (application processing), the CRM (Slate), marketing and communications. The team works to attract undergraduate students from a variety of groups: first time freshmen, first generation college students, transfer students, re-entry students, adult students.



Job Summary

Assists with the planning, development, coordination, management, and execution of the recruitment and admissions process in alignment with the institution’s strategic goals. Represents the institution to prospective students with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, diverse student body. Performs a variety of duties involving the review and processing of admissions applications in accordance with University guidelines, policies, and procedures. Evaluates and verifies residency for tuition purposes, including triaging residency questions and processes, assisting with residency appeals, and interpreting state statutes.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience
  • Evidence of customer service experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to student affairs or higher education administration
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills with an understanding of how to prioritize work
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and clear direct communication when working with customers or clients
  • Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) and/or student information systems
  • Experience working with diverse populations, specifically in admissions, on a college campus or other educational setting
