Summary of Position

Keene State College’s Athletic Department invites applications for a Head Coach for Women’s Softball. This is a benefited, 77% position with contract dates from mid-August to mid-June.

In line with the Keene State College Athletics’ mission, the Women’s Softball program strives to consistently achieve national excellence. Our student athletes endeavor to excel academically and athletically, while valuing and enhancing leadership, diversity, sportsmanship, and integrity with a sense of pride and tradition in the college and surrounding community.

The Head Coach will have direct responsibility for all facets of the women’s softball program, including recruiting, practice sessions, games, budget management, equipment requisition, conditioning, and public relations.

Bachelor’s degree and two years experience in college coaching/athletics.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Additional years of successful collegiate coaching experience. Experience working or leading camps and clinics. Additionally, the College has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to campus.

Duty/Responsibility

Organize, develop, and administer all aspects of an NCAA Division Ill sports team.
  • Recruitment and retention of student/athletes-the ability to effectively evaluate athletic talent through on-site home visits and video. Effectively evaluate academic talent to help ensure academic collegiate success. Monitor academic progress of matriculated student athletes and assist with accessing necessary support resources of all student athletes.
  • Coordinate and conduct all practice and game preparation including training and conditioning program for student athletes, scout opponents, and travel extensively with team.
  • Budget preparation, scheduling, travel arrangements, requisitioning equipment, fund raising, community service/promoting the program on and off campus and complying with all NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Hiring and supervising assistant coaches and other adjunct staff members, as necessary.

Duty/Responsibility

Provide support with departmental administrative duties; duties within department based upon employee skill set and may change depending on the department needs.
