Manufacturing Group lead - Systems Integrations

Job Description

Introduction

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet safety standards, production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials and supplies. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations regarding and, at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Role and responsibilities
    • Administers and assists with implementing policies and processes that affect staff.
    • Typically leads, directs, and may perform work of the function supervised except in escalated situations.
    • May maintain departmental daily work schedule to ensure project and time commitments are met.
    • Ensures production schedules are met and escalates when those schedules are not going to be met.
    • Oversees cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
    • May act as interface with Finance Department for inventory audits or physical inventory counts.
    • May assist the Production Manager with to analyze MRP data upon forecast introduction for capacity constraints.
    • Supports change order implementation with support from Engineering staff.
    • Assists in shop floor control insuring a safe working environment.
    • Ensures positive material flow in order to avoid stock-outs and escalates in the event of any material issues.
    • Ensures production schedules are met and escalates accordingly when those schedules are not going to be met.
    • Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
    • Executes continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to ensure optimum production performance.
    • Audits execution of documented processes.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    • AA Degree or current student working towards a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experiences.
    • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent experience desired.
    • At least 6+ years of relevant, work related experience.
    • Prior team lead experience. Supervisory experience is desired.
    • Experience overseeing cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
    • Skilled in assisting others to analyze MRP data upon forecast introduction for capacity constraints.
    • Skilled in ensuring shop floor control in a safe working environment.
    • Experience with material flow to avoid stock-outs and escalate in the event of any material issues.
    • Experience meeting production schedules and escalating accordingly when schedules issues arise.
    • Ability to provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
    • Experience administering company policies that directly affect direct reports, recommending changes to unit or sub-unit policies, and reviewing work to measure meeting of objectives.
    • Familiar with Lean Mfg. concept and principles.
    • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.

    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customer.
    • Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines.

    Role within the Factory

    • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing a frock, hood, booties, safety glasses, facemask, and gloves for entire duration of shift.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
    • The employee may occasionally slide and/or move up to 50 pounds approximately two times/ day.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Can work under deadlines.
    • May require minimal domestic travel for training opportunities.
    • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
    • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
    • Can learn and apply new information or skills.
    • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
