Position can be housed in any of our four center locations (Highland, Atchison, Baileyville, or Wamego).

 


SUMMARY
This position will assist Early College and HCC Online students by providing admissions and enrollment support. This position will develop, implement, enforce, and promote Early College and online student resources and policies compliant with HCC policies and standards. This position will also provide academic advising to Early College and online students. Hours worked will typically be daytime hours; however, evening and weekend hours may be scheduled occasionally. This position will work closely with both the Assistant Dean of Instruction, Early College and the Associate Dean of Instruction, eLearning in order to complete the job duties.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Communicate with prospective, current, and returning students via face-to-face, email, phone, written correspondence, and social media. Provide academic advisement, course placement verification, and enrollment assistance.
  • Participate in enrollment management initiatives such as enrollment days, recruitment activities and events, and other student services events as assigned.
  • Assist with and create materials to support website and content marketing.
  • Assist with student textbook processes.
  • Administer placement testing and test proctoring.
  • Perform data entry and data management in HCC's student information system and student record archive database.
  • Partner with faculty and staff in retention efforts of Early College and online students.
  • Assist with in-service event planning and presentations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to testing standardization, ethical requirements, and confidentiality.
  • Project a positive image for HCC with a polite, helpful mannerism.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree required. Related experience and/or training desired. Basic understanding of college admissions, academic and career advising, enrollment and financial aid processes desired. 1 - 3 years' experience in higher education preferred. Must have excellent computer skills including a thorough knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record with no major infractions in the past five years.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, correspondence, reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, other colleges, or members of the business community. Must be able to compose clear and effective communications in both letters and emails; ability to effectively present information to customers, recruits, management, public groups, and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Abilities/Skills

Skills - Must possess excellent record keeping skills. Should have a service orientation and positive attitude toward students, employees, and community people who interact with the College including prompt response to student needs. Must be able to multitask while providing customer assistance and remain calm under pressure.

Confidentiality - The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required.

Teamwork - Must be able to balance team and individual responsibilities, exhibit objectivity and openness to the view and ideas of others, give and welcome feedback, and contribute to building a positive team attitude.
