DESCRIPTION

Security Systems Technician performs technology-based analysis of security system integration, processes, and problems; develops solutions that involve industry best practices; assists with creating specifications for systems to meet requirements; validates requirements against needs; designs details of automated systems; develops user interface design; planning and executing unit integration and end-user acceptance testing; may develop training materials for system implementation. Responsible for maintaining the overall health of security systems to include servers, video recorders, cameras, access control, infant security system, etc. Serve as the main point of contact with external and internal vendors and project managers. Assist with the design of security design standards for UCSDH. Will work together with other security technicians to determine the latest technological systems to ensure the most current and comprehensive system is in place to support the safety and security of the staff and assets. Must be able to provide recommendations on the most efficient and scalable solution to grow the system and the institution continues to grow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.

  • Should have an in-depth understanding of how security systems programming and how they integrate with other platform solutions.

  • Professional experience, and proven success, providing hands on security systems support and managment in a large scale organization.

  • Broad knowledge of various areas of IT related to security systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lenel OnGuard Certification and experience.
  • Milestone XProtect Certification and experience.
  • Bosch Certification and experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $82,500 - $151,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $39.51 - $72.56

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
