Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Banquet Captain with Three Leaf Catering by Notre Dame. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

As a Banquet Captain, you will be a key member of our mission by overseeing the execution of catering events and providing professional service to banquet guests while they enjoy a business lunch, family gathering, special occasion or a casual meal.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
  • Oversee set-up, execution, and tear down of events taking place
  • Ensure event space is clean and ready prior to vendors arriving for event
  • Communicate with client to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Effectively problem solve and rectify any situation quickly
  • Provide highest customer service possible and follow UEE Global Service Standards
  • Spend time in the office reviewing upcoming assigned events and touch base with event specialist who planned the event to seek clarification
  • Assist facilities in pre-event set up (Set-up includes: moving of tables, chairs, linens, A/V equipment or supplies, dance floors, bars and any other items requested by the client.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years experience in service industry
  • Attention to detail and high commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Must have excellent communication/listening skills and high standards of cleanliness
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to bend, walk and be on feet for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more throughout shift
