Microscopy Specialist

Introduction to the job

The Microscopy Specialist will work hands on in the lab performing microscope and SEM analysis for a variety of D&E teams. They will support the ongoing work for future product development and perform failure analysis on specialized parts. Additionally, they will act as a support and guidance by providing individual instruction on use of the SEM. They will work with a diverse range of scientists and engineers to find the root causes of some of the most difficult technical problems ASML is facing today. Creative thinking and scientific investigation are encouraged.

Role and responsibilities
  • SEM/EDX Operation

  • Optical Microscope Expert

  • Analysis and interpterion of SEM/Microscopy Data

  • Clarify microscopy requests with asking projects

  • Communicate results to the project teams in a timely and clear manner

  • Provide instruction and oversight to new lab users who need to perform their own imaging

  • Operating and maintaining equipment and supplies in the microscopy lab, including coordinating any routine maintenance and resolving technical and quality problems

Education and experience
  • Master's Degree in an Engineering Science with minimum 3-5 years of hands on lab experience

  • Experienced SEM/EDX Operator

  • Optical Microscope Expert

  • Experience interpreting and reporting on data collected

    Other information

    This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

    The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $92,625-$154,375. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
