Job Description

Under supervision, provides technical support related to the Imaging Enterprise Imaging central repository and medical record. Helps users with procedural or minor technical problems related to electronic records reconciliation, access/share tools, image distribution, uploading patient films, comparison films, burning/transferring films, and with computer hardware and software. Creates documentation to assist with technical support, new features, and documents chronic issues with the systems. Responsible for end-user training, and assists with process issues and technical questions. Responsible for quality assurance on uploads and discs burned in the Digital Library to ensure correct image count, accurate patient demographic information, and correct workflow for the uploaded images within the diagnostic Radiology workflow.
Monitors unexpected errors and reports all issues to the Enterprise Imaging Informatics technical team. Documents functionality gaps reported by users and suggests solutions to the Enterprise Imaging Informatics technical team. Consults with Enterprise Imaging Informatics technical support on new RIS design, build, testing, training and go-live. Supports related applications on all medical center computers, as well as clinically integrated networks and patient use. Assists with functionality testing of Enterprise tools during test trials and pre-go live. Assists with the implementation and documentation of procedures for new RIS as it relates to the Digital Library. Performs other entry-level technical support functions as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquires skills and knowledge to perform and / or participate in the maintenance, improvement, and user support for basic aspects of clinical imaging systems, including retrieval, storage, and transferring of clinical image files.
- Under direct supervision, acquires skills to troubleshoot and resolve simple problems with image management systems. Learns to identify and escalate more complex problems. Learns protocols for documenting support issues.
- Acquires and applies skills to assist in the evaluation, testing and enhancement of clinical imaging systems.
- Acquires instructional skills to perform basic end user training on workflows, processes, hardware, and operating systems.
- Develops working knowledge of clinical image management, including regulations and current technology.
- May make recommendations for improvements and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
One (1) year of professional experience providing technical (digital records) support in a large, complex healthcare environment.
Basic knowledge of clinical imaging systems and related processes and practices involved with managing, storing, and transferring medical images.
Knowledge of relevant hardware, software and / or database administration, including development, implementation, maintenance, user support, and system testing and evaluation.Detail oriented, with basic organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, complete assignments, and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional staff in clinical and non-clinical functions.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
Understanding of imaging systems and documentation procedures and ability to conduct basic performance and quality assurance testing.
- Recent experience working in a digital library in a large, complex healthcare environment.
- Experience assisting providers/radiologist.
- Excellent customer service, detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be willing to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $58,600 - $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.07 - $48.28
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
