We are seeking a CFD Thermal Engineer to help us develop one of a kind spacecrafts. You will contribute to exciting missions such as Dragonfly. As a CFD Thermal Engineer...

  • Your primary responsibility will involve conducting conjugate heat transfer modeling and analysis for spacecraft and hardware using Ansys Fluent
  • You will perform thermal model validation using test and in-flight data
  • You will support thermal design decisions with analysis and calculation
  • You will conduct thermal design trade studies that successfully balance performance margins, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule
  • You will coordinate with all levels of program and engineering staff on thermal design, analysis and test matters

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Possess a strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Have 3+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis using the CFD software ANSYS FLUENT and meshing
  • Are proficient in ANSYS SpaceClaim or Discovery CAD for modeling complex systems
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have a MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Have experience with spacecraft or satellite development programs
  • Have experience using the Thermal Desktop software package
