Social Work and Social Policy

  • Full-time or part-time appointment on an ongoing basis (joint appointment will be considered)
  • Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362 p.a plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

Social Work and Social Policy is part of UWA’s School of Allied Health, a leading research, teaching and service organisation whose work influences policies and practices for community health and wellbeing.

We have adopted a contemporary flexible approach to education and offer a two-year postgraduate Master of Social Work, a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work along with Higher Degree by Research option.

About the opportunity

  • Prepare and deliver classes in a range of face-to-face, online and hybrid modes (such as workshops, lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, and student field excursions)
  • Conduct research and publication, independently and/or in collaboration, external to School and University
  • Contribute to Aboriginal cultural knowledge for staff and students in the School of Allied Health
  • Contribute to team activities such as team and school meetings, strategic planning and program development

About you

  • Completed 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience in academic field relevant to Social Work
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative and effective teaching approaches, materials for units and courses
  • Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to team, school and wider University activities such as team and school meetings, strategic planning and program development
