Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Assistant Director plays a critical role in advancing operational excellence for Education Abroad, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Education Abroad’s (EA) student-facing systems and processes, including registration, billing, course evaluation, and scholarships. The Assistant Director ensures that EA’s application management system and website are accessible, function effectively and meet stakeholder needs.

The Assistant Director facilitates relationships with colleagues across the University, coordinating with campus partners to ensure the efficient operation of cross-departmental processes and workflows, supporting a seamless experience for students, faculty, and staff. The Assistant Director contributes to the development and review of policies, operationalizes procedures and workflows, and manages projects to evaluate and improve efficient EA operations.

The Assistant Director broadly manages EA’s scholarship funds and awarding process. In consultation with the Director of Education Abroad and Associate Director for Operations, they will develop and implement strategies for the allocation of funding resources to maximize impact to students and expand access to Education Abroad.

The position supervises three positions and reports to the Associate Director of Operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
  • 7 years’ relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience working. in higher education or international education and 2 year of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with a student information system.
  • Demonstrated experience with scholarship administration.
  • Experience advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data analysis skills and the ability to visually present data and clearly communicate data-generated insights.
  • Ability to lead and/or supervise staff.
  • Ability to handle multiple/competing priorities and provide excellent outcomes within required time frames.
  • Working knowledge of Google Office software.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Master’s degree.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Study Abroad Software (Terra Dotta or ViaTRM), Google platform, Microsoft. Excel and/or other relevant software platforms.
  • Experience at a public higher education institution.
  • Participation and leadership in regional, national and international conferences and organizations.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $80,000 – $89,000.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
