LOCATION

This position is base at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, located 6121 Montrose Rd, Rockville, MD 20852.

OUR ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR POSITION
The primary purpose of the Admissions Counselor position is to assist families and prospective residents through the admissions process in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility and as may be directed by the Director of Admissions, to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.

All employees are expected to work diligently to support the mission, vision and values of Charles E. Smith Life Communities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist applicants and families of applicants through the admissions process including taking phone inquiries and answering question about admissions to the Hebrew Home.
  • Give appropriate tours to prospective residents and family members.
  • Maintain all information during the admissions process on the Home's computer system.
  • Be sure all necessary documentation is obtained prior to admitting any new patient/resident.
  • Obtain appropriate signatures on all required admissions paperwork. Explain all paperwork clearly to new residents and families.
  • Obtain all necessary MDS information for sections, which the admissions department is responsible.
  • Greet new residents in the lobby upon their arrival. Escort them to the unit and transition them to nursing care.
  • Explain financial responsibilities clearly including information about Medicare, Medicaid and third party payers.
  • Participate in marketing events as assigned.
  • Participate in CQI as assigned.
SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a FULL TIME Salaried position.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a college education – preferably in a Social Science field.
  • Must have, as a minimum, some experience in a nursing care facility or other related medical facility.
  • Must have trained in a human services field.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Must provide documentation of such certification upon application for the position.

VACCINATION POLICY

As a dedicated provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen before the start of employment. Another source of documentation that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC vaccination policy.
