Position Announcement: Dean of Career and Technical Education

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Dean of Career and Technical Education. Currently, Career and Technical Education includes the renewable energy, auto, diesel, industrial automation, and welding, fire/EMS, paramedic and cosmetology programs. With the construction of the addition to the Applied Technology Campus, new programs will be added by the fall of 2025. The Dean serves as the academic and administrative director for these Career and Technical Education programs and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Dean supports the Vice President of Academic Affairs in designing and implementing new initiatives developed internally or by the Colorado Community College System. They must cooperate with other faculty, staff, and the community to make it possible for NJC to achieve its stated vision and philosophy.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Ensure the quality and safety of instruction in CTE courses and labs.
  • Oversee required accreditation of programs and instructors. This includes the ASE Education 2.5 year and 5-year accreditation visits, record keeping and renewals.
  • Manage resources allocated to each department or division.
  • Execute effective personnel administration including faculty and adjunct hiring and onboarding, professional development, performance reviews, and timekeeping as applicable.
  • Compile, analyze, and report CTE data to appropriate agencies and the NJC Institutional Research and Assessment offices.
Participate in recruiting and enrollment events for CTE programs, and foster relationships with business and industry partners to support programs, students and graduates.

What We Require:

  • Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential, or a bachelor's degree in a CTE-related field.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license
  • Knowledge/experience with computer technology, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
  • Refined presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Teaching experience in higher education.


What We Can Offer:

This is a full time on-site position working at the NJC Applied Technology Campus. Annual salary is $63,000-$68,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
