In support of Isothermal Community College, the Welding Instructor is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for all College students. The instructor will teach Welding courses; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College; the instructor will also demonstrate a commitment to the Learning College concept, assessment, cooperative learning, and student advising Responsibilities

1. Develop course outlines and teaching materials based on the state curriculum standards and make changes to the curriculum as needed

2. Facilitate the delivery of courses in the Welding program each academic year

3. Deliver a full-time teaching load providing a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes as needed for the academic year including teaching evening and weekend courses

4. Serve as a curriculum and career development advisor to Welding students

5. Conduct classroom observations of adjunct faculty in coordination with the Dean

6. Serve on various college committees and community organizations

7. Serve as an ambassador in the community for the College and the Welding programs

8. Assist and consult with the Dean, upon request

9. Perform expectations of a faculty member as stated in the Full Time Faculty Job Description

10. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

An associate’s degree in welding technology, or a related field plus experience and demonstrated competency in welding

Preferred Qualifications

Community College teaching experience
