Job Description

Under general supervision, performs a variety of work duties which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC). These duties also include but are not limited to: environmental care functions, equipment/supply management and cleaning/disinfecting the environment. Incumbents may also provide front office services on a routine or back-up basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
Three (3+) years or more of Medical Assistant experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, on-line scheduling, universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
Requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a teamenvironment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- BLS and/or BART.
- Minimum two (2) years Ambulatory care experience.
- Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
- Ability to work in outdoor settings under extreme weather (heat, rain, cold).
- Ability to work overtime as required. Nights, weekends, and some holidays availability will be required.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $57,378 - $71,430 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $27.48 - $34.21
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
