Salary Grade: Executive Grade 01/ XG-01

Position Summary: The Chief of Police provides executive-level leadership, strategic planning, and administrative direction for the District’s police and security functions. Position is a proactive, visible leader in fostering collaborative working relationships with schools, law enforcement agencies, public safety organizations, and community stakeholders. Develops and implements programs to address law enforcement, safety, and security goals and objectives for students and staff in a supportive teaching and learning environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration or related field required or
- Master’s degree preferred
- Five (5) years of experience in a high-level law enforcement supervisory position
- Seven (7) years of related law enforcement experience required
- Oklahoma CLEET certified as a sworn police officer or able to obtain such certification
- Must maintain an Oklahoma class D driver’s license and have an acceptable driving
- Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification by
Management
- National School Resource Officer certification required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Ability to react effectively in emergency situations, lift and carry bodies, push heavy
human being if necessary
- Ability to occasionally stoop, reach, twist, climb, and grip
- Ability to walk, run, crawl or sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 200 lbs. unassisted
- In extreme cases may be exposed to violent or armed confrontations
- May involve routine exposure to blood or body fluids
